I am originally from Northern Ireland, and moved to England in 1987. My family and I have lived in Staffordshire since 2002. My children are both actively involved in local rugby, football and tennis clubs, and I use my photography in a number of ways to support activities for these clubs.

I am now beginning to turn the hobby I am passionate about, together with my interest in sports, into a profession. In 2015 I completed a Diploma in Professional Photography, taking an additional module in Sports Photography. I have designed this website primarily as a gallery for a sample of the photographs I have taken. My work can be used to showcase an individual – for example, if your child is about to participate in an important sporting event and you would prefer to focus your time on watching and supporting them rather than taking photographs to record the occasion, I can attend the event and capture some high quality images for you to remember the day. Also, if you are the coach or manager of a sports team, and want a special match to be captured – perhaps it is their first match, or maybe they have reached a cup final – I can photograph the event, ensuring that there are photographs of every member of the team in action, together with a formal team group photograph.

I have been watching and photographing sports for some time now, and my experience and ability to ‘read the game’ shows in the quality of images I produce. I am able to capture moments of action, a try, a goal or a tackle, but I find it equally satisfying capturing those moments of emotion so frequently seen during sporting contests – the elation, the despair, the comradeship. My preference is to produce images which are of excellent quality ‘in-camera’ rather than rely on editing, but, if need be, I will use Photoshop to enhance an image, for example, by de-cluttering backgrounds.
